Hello everyone and thanks for visiting my website.

I’m Peter Waddington, I first became involved in the Koi hobby back in 1972 - and since 1977 I have spent over 7 years in Japan - learning about the Koi themselves and also learning much regarding Koi pond filtration techniques.

ABOUT

If one checks out most Koi websites today, you’ll soon discover that the subject of pond filtration is, by far, the most discussed topic.

I designed my first filtration systems in 1978 and since then I have also designed and sold, my multi-chamber rise & fall systems and my Vortex filters.

Apologies but not one of these designs met with my approval as to their efficiency, so I put them aside, however, my failures also provided a test bed for me, and I did learn much from my mistakes.

My biggest single mistake was the upward-flow water pattern in all my earlier attempts so, in 1986, I came up with the idea of adopting the horizontal-flow water pattern as a viable alternative.

I marketed my first horizontal-flow filter in late 1986 and gave it the name of ‘The Budget Filter’ – simply because it was the cheapest filter I had for sale at the time.

Despite the stupid name I gave to it, sales of my Budget Filters quickly outsold all the rest of my filter systems and I never received a single complaint from any of the owners.

Bearing this in mind, in 2008 I decided to revitalize my Budget filters by making a few necessary tweaks here & there, and this became my Eric filter that I launched on a new website in 2009.

Sales exceeded my estimations and so an Eric filter was installed on my own 17,500 gallon Koi pond in 2012 and this allowed me to monitor the Eric filter on a daily basis.

At the time I did not feel sure that any improvements could be made to my Eric filter – but I carried on testing and persevered.

Eventually I did come up with a design that was much improved, much smaller, much lighter and much more effective as to the performance.

So much so, in 2016 I announced my Epic filters and they remain to be exactly the same today.

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT MANY OWNERS SAY ABOUT ERIC & EPIC FILTER SYSTEMS.

I started selling ready-made Eric filters back in 2010 and a good friend insisted that each one should have its own serial number.

By matching the owner’s name to the serial number and logging it down – I would be able to keep a close record of every filter sold.

It was great advice that I should have taken but in the new-found excitement - I forgot - and the first big order that followed was for 24 x E4 units for a pond in the USA.

I have always asked Eric owners for feedback on my filters and there are just a few on here – but that’s only a small percentage of the ones that have actually been sold.

I’m assuming that all the others sold have lived up to my claims – otherwise I would have had several complaints by now?

Here are some positive testimonials regarding my filters and in recent weeks I have offered a 90-day trial period for all new sales that guarantees a full refund to anyone who is not delighted with my filters – please bear this in mind if you are considering a filter or are upgrading an existing one.

Now, I’m well aware that there are others ‘attempting’ to copy my filters and I’ll just take that as a compliment – however no one else can possibly duplicate the original – believe me!
